Marta initially studied at the University of Glasgow graduating with a BEng Degree in Civil Engineering. She went on to work in the engineering industry until deciding to follow a career in law. Marta then studied at the University of Strathclyde completing the Law Degree (LLB) in 2014. She obtained her Diploma in Legal Practice at Strathclyde University in 2016.
Prior to commencing her traineeship at Latta & Co, Marta was a language interpreter with the Scottish Courts and Tribunals Service and the Crown Prosecution Service, where she regularly assisted clients in their legal matters. In her role as a language consultant, she has closely worked with the National Health Service, Police Scotland and various multinational agencies.
Marta developed a keen interest in the immigration law and human rights during her time assisting at the tribunals as well as through an array of voluntary roles she undertook whilst studying at the university. Marta’s main areas of focus are now the immigration and asylum field. She has a particular interest in deportation, EEA nationals’ immigration matters and human rights.
Away from the office, Marta spends a lot of her time with family and friends. She enjoys travelling to new places having travelled extensively around the world. Marta also has a keen interest in property investment and has a passion for learning new languages and exploring different cultures. She enjoys reading, theatre and long countryside walks.
